SUNO's Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

SUNO’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection was designed and developed in New York City, employing skilled sample and pattern makers in New York’s Garment district. The fabrics for this collection come from Kenya, Tanzania, Japan, Korea, and Italy. The garments are artisinally produced in small workshops in Nairobi, Kenya.

The inspiration for this collection started with Armand Lanoux’s book about Paris in the 1920s and a Kandinsky painting within (“Spitzen Im Bogen” from 1927). The similarities to our times, the painting’s color palate, its shapes, and its synthesis of philosophies provided direction that lead to San Francisco in the 80s and New York today. The extremes, excesses, experiments, perversions, parties, the crashes, and the creativity were all explored in SUNO’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection. (teenminutesmagz.com)
